But this was different. “It’s been a few times I for sure got nervous and n*a, trying to nail that verse with like two of my Mount Rushmores, produced by my Mount Rushmore, was like, ‘I can’t fck this up for me. While today’s creators may rely heavily on Instagram grids and YouTube reels, Mina believes in having a digital home base—a central hub that displays your full body of work. She uses her website not just as a portfolio, but as a professional tool when applying for jobs or pitching collaborations. “People click,” she says. “They want to know who you are.”

It’s raw and real—about her C-section delivery, identity shifts, and the parts of motherhood people often skip in public conversations. “Nobody really told me what to expect,” she says. “So I share those stories on-air, and other moms reach out saying, ‘Thank you.’”

That gratitude fuels her. It tells her she’s on the right path.

Documentaries and Law Degrees?

True to her multi-hyphenate nature, Mina is also eyeing new terrain: documentary filmmaking and possibly a law degree. She once filmed a documentary in college and hasn’t forgotten the thrill of visual storytelling. “The core of what I do is telling stories,” she says. “The platform might change, but the heart stays the same.”

As for law school? She’s intrigued—especially by the idea of becoming a music attorney, given her minor in music business. But she’s also honest with herself. “If I can’t give 100%, I won’t do it,” she says. “That’s how I know it’s not the right time. But it’s on my mind.”

While the teaser goes live October 3, the full collection officially launches October 8 on Timberland.com.

Coming out of Dallas, Texas, BuudaHunnitz is already a force to be reckoned with. With several hot singles showcasing his versatility and demeanor, in just a few years, Buuda has set the stage for his future success, releasing a foundational EP, Welcome To The Land Of The 6, in 2022, and his debut album Pieces just this past September.

“I had just started getting back into music [when I started working on Welcome To The Land Of The 6],” Buuda said, going on to reminisce about that time and how he put his brother on to rapping as well.

“We wanted something that represented our swag. Our swag is different,” he added. “Texas, it’s our land.” It’s this same mindset that he kept with his debut Pieces, going further to demonstrate what the southern rapper can do on a beat.

“I’m real good with words. I’m in tune with my emotions. The beat talks to me,” he said in reference to his work on the 2024 album.

BuudaHunnitz’s upbringing was filled with inspiration from all over, but his love for rap drove him to begin pursuing it as not only a career, but a lifestyle. But, it goes without saying that his background, both artistically and identity-wise, is certainly something special for the rap game, especially down south.

For most people, being the first at something would dramatically change their outlook on their career and would become a point to sell. For Buuda, being Texas’s first notable Asian-American rapper doesn’t really phase him like it would for other people. According to him, it’s all about the music, it’s all about the output, it’s about aiming higher.

“I told my mama, ‘Imma be a rapper.’ She said ‘Hell no,’ but she wasn’t mad, you feel. [At that moment], I was like ‘Imma prove everybody [who doubted me] wrong.’”

He went on, “I feel like hip-hop has so much to offer, you know, I don’t really listen to that much outside of rap, ‘cuz I feel like rap got something for everything, everybody.”

When asked about how he works and who in the industry he’d like to work with, Buuda kept it as real as he knows best. “I be focusing on myself, my songs, my world. I’m all about showing love, I don’t really got nobody specific, no one person, but whoever click with me and I click with, I’m all about showing love. ”

With projects like Welcome To The Land of The 6, Pieces,  “Pop My Sh*t,” and “Twin Talk,” the last three released in 2024 alone, BuudaHunnitz is looking forward to 2025 with this mindset: “You can’t escape me.” New musical projects, merchandise, you name it, Buuda plans on hitting the ground running towards the mainstream.

Through it all, though, he is adamant on setting the bar, repping his hometown, and staying true to who he is.

“I’m a good person, I come from good people. Music is my whole world. Whatever you want, you gotta go get. Most important, though, I wanna take care of everyone around me. That’s my end goal right there. Milestones, I want the world to know what I stand for. I make music for people like me.”
