Rapper NLE Choppa turned heads as he made his runway debut at Off-White’s Spring Summer 2025 “DUTY FREE” show during New York Fashion Week. The collection, inspired by creative director Ib Kamara’s emotional journey to Ghana – Virgil Abloh’s birthplace – explored themes of African imagination and the American dream.

Choppa, wearing Look 25, embodied the collection’s bold vision in a striking all-red ensemble. The outfit featured a form-fitting ribbed turtleneck sweater with a built-in hood, paired with matching red leather pants. The pants were adorned with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and zipper accents, blending practicality with high fashion. A black belt with a distinctive buckle added contrast to the monochromatic look.

The rapper’s runway appearance wasn’t just a visual spectacle – it also caught the attention of fashion’s most influential figure. According to reports, Anna Wintour was seen smiling during Choppa’s walk, a rare gesture from the typically stoic Vogue editor-in-chief. Sources close to the event claim Wintour even suggested that Choppa should have performed at the show, hinting at a potential fusion of music and fashion in future Off-White presentations.

Off-White’s SS25 collection aims to capture the essence of America, particularly New York, as a symbol of opportunity in the collective African imagination. By featuring artists like NLE Choppa alongside traditional models, the brand continues to blur the lines between streetwear, high fashion, and popular culture.

The show also highlighted Off-White’s evolving aesthetic under Ib Kamara’s creative direction. Other notable looks from the collection included bold prints, innovative layering techniques, and a mix of tailored and relaxed silhouettes, all while maintaining the brand’s signature street-inspired edge.

NLE Choppa’s runway debut at Off-White showcased his versatility as an artist. It also emphasized the growing influence of hip-hop culture in high fashion. We can expect to see more unexpected collaborations and crossovers in future fashion weeks.

We can’t wait! What’s your favorite look from the collection? Let us know!
